Campus Re-Opening

Dear Leaders,


Sequel to the previous email on campus reopening informing you that the campus remained shut, we are glad to inform you that the campus will be open from Monday, the 8th of March, 2021 - under guidelines and measures to ensure we keep our community safe. Here are a few important points to keep in mind as we reopen.


Access to campus and Space Booking:

  1. We ONLY have 350 slots available daily for both staff and students - which will be available on a first come, first serve basis.

  2. Only two buildings will be accessible, the Social Commons and the Learning Commons.

  3. All bookings will be made through this booking system Here are step by step details on how to book Demo

  4. Staff area is reserved strictly for staff ONLY, your bookings will be automatically voided if you are not a staff member and you book this space.

  5. If you are having trouble booking please reach out to the OPS team.

  6. ONLY staff and students booked through this system will be allowed on Campus daily.

  7. Booking should be done 24 hours before the day you want to come to campus.

  8. At the moment we have a no guests policy on campus for the next two weeks. Please reach out to the OPS team if you will need further clarification on this.


Transportation Service:

  1. The transportation service will resume on Monday, the 8th of March, 2021.

  2. We will keep the same Kacyiru-Campus route.

  3. Commuters will be paying a fixed amount of 500 Rwf per trip as usual.

Campus Security:

  1. The campus will be open every day from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.

  2. Students and staff will be allowed on campus ONLY during this time.

  3. Security will check your name from the booking system list before you are allowed on campus. Please note that your ID card remains the source of validating your identity.

  4. Every person will be required to strictly adhere to the normal protocols at the gate - have temperature checked, wear a mask, validate identity, and use the hand sanitizer or wash stations at the entrance before gaining access.

  5. We must all wear masks at all times, observe social distancing guidelines, and observe best practices re COVID as posted around campus.

  6. Security will do walkthroughs at 3:30 pm, 30 min before 4:00 pm to remind everyone to leave campus before closing time.

Catering on campus:

  1. We will have caterers rotate on a daily or weekly basis. So, only one external caterer will be available to sell food per time. We encourage you to pre-order on their WhatsApp Business platforms according to their availability. ( Meze Fresh, Divine Catering, Food & Stuff )

  2. SVP are free to operate at the allocated spaces as communicated by the OPS team. (Please reach out to the OPS team if you have not been allocated a spot)

  3. Please feel free to place your orders from other existing platforms as well (e.g vubavuba, Rush foods, Pozo delivery)
